PICHLER AI · About me

From construction to building software.

I’m Joshua, the person behind Pichler AI. My path has taken me from construction and the building materials trade to programming my own applications. Today, the aim is to bring that experience to the tasks you need help with.

From hands-on construction to customer advice

I trained as a bricklayer in Switzerland, earning the EFZ qualification. I then worked in bricklaying and customer-facing building work, followed by roles with site responsibilities. Later, I advised customers in the building materials trade.

This introduced me to different sides of the work: delivery on site, coordination within a business and the questions raised in customer conversations.

Learning to code by building things

Four years ago, I started teaching myself to code. Since then, I have built CalcBud and several smaller apps. Some are not publicly available, but they are part of my practical experience.

The learning continues: AI and software development are subjects I keep working on.

CalcBud: Turning a construction task into custom software

CalcBud is a web application developed by Joshua for material quantities. Its concrete calculator turns length, width, height and quantity into a volume. Material selection and an allowance feed into the calculation of the required number of bags.

Staff at a builders’ merchant use CalcBud through their intranet. This shows a specific task implemented as an application people use. CalcBud uses defined calculation rules.

What this means when we work together

Your workflow, questions and idea are the starting point. Together, we clarify what a solution needs to do in your work and what support makes sense. You have a direct point of contact throughout.

For businesses and people who want to learn

Business services focus on workflows and custom solutions. For individuals, the focus is on practical learning and developing personal ideas. You can work with Pichler AI in German or English.
